This recipe for juicy grilled chicken tenderloins is one of my favourites, and it’s also the first marinade I made that stepped outside my comfort zone. I always stuck to my classic oil, lemon, garlic, and oregano mix (which you can check out in my wing recipe). However, one time I tried ingredients I wasn’t as familiar with, like mustard. After a few goes, I nailed it, and I was so proud of the result! The chicken is tender, juicy, and full of flavour.
These grilled chicken tenderloins are not only delicious on their own but also ideal for pairing with a healthy chicken salad or a refreshing yogurt cucumber salad. Whether you’re making the marinade in a mini food processor or using a mortar and pestle (my favourite), the key is to pour in the oil as you grind for a smoother texture. If you’re using a food processor, fold in the yogurt by hand at the end. This recipe is a must-try for anyone looking for a simple yet flavourful meal!
For this recipe, I highly recommend using a mortar and pestle for the best texture. I’ll be sharing my go-to tools, and if you’re in the market for one, check out the mortar and pestle I recommend. If you prefer a food processor, I can’t say enough good things about my Dorsch Mini Electric Food Processor. It’s compact, comes with a glass bowl for easy cleaning and no lingering smells, and is just a dream to use. Plus, you can grab one for yourself with 10% off anytime using the code roubasfood – even on sale items!
Step 1.
Season the chicken tenderloins with salt and pepper. To make the marinade, combine the marinade ingredients except for the yogurt in a mini food processor and bring it to a paste. Once well combined, fold in the yogurt by hand and mix it through.
Alternatively, you can make your marinade in a mortar and pestle (I love to do mine in a mortar and pestle). Pour the marinade over the chicken tenderloins and mix well to coat, massaging all over.
Step 2.
Heat pan over medium-high heat (no added oil necessary). Add the chicken and cook for 6 to 10 minutes, turning several times until cooked through.

Kafta Fatteh! Crispy bread, yogurt, pine nuts, and that toosh sound from hot ghee make this dish a winner.
