About this recipe
Easy vanilla and chocolate custard dessert recipe made with a biscuit base and topped with cocoa. This is the best cheat dessert and a breeze to make. It is just as easy as my cheat store-bought ingredient-only trifle. No baking is required. In fact, I use Cottees packet puddings. This dessert tastes even better the next day.

Notes from Rouba
I use Arnott’s Nice biscuits. To substitute, use Arnott’s Marie biscuits, digestive biscuits, or basically any vanilla flavoured biscuit.
Oiling the serving dish makes the crumble base easier to scoop and serve.
Double your recipe for a bigger gathering.
Method
Step 1.
Spray the base of a 24 cm x 24 cm serving dish with vegetable oil. Process the biscuits until finely crushed. Add melted butter and mix well. Press the biscuit mixture gently into the base of the oiled serving dish.
Step 2.
Beat the instant vanilla pudding with 600 ml of milk with an electric beater for 1-2 minutes. Pour over the prepared biscuit base. Set in the refrigerator for 10 minutes.
Beat the instant chocolate pudding with the remaining 600 ml of milk with an electric beater for 1 minute. Layer over the chocolate pudding.
Step 3.
Whip cream with 2 tablespoons of icing sugar until stiff peaks form. Spread over the custard. Use the back of a spoon to create peaks within the cream. Dust with cocoa.
This is the best Christmas dessert if you are time-poor!
