About this recipe

This easy, homemade spaghetti with beef tomato sauce takes just a few minutes to prepare. We’ve been making this recipe forever, it’s a regular staple in our home. This recipe is super special because I’m using my homemade passata sauce. Simmer on the stove for a deep rich flavour and everyone will love it.

Notes from Rouba

  • Remember to taste the sauce before adding the salt as the anchovies are salty.

Method

Step 1.

Over medium heat, fry chopped onion, garlic, and chilli with olive oil. Cook until they soften, about 7 minutes. Add beef mince and continue to fry breaking up the mince until browned. Then add passata sauce, anchovies and basil leaves. Reduce the heat and simmer stirring occasionally for 30-40 minutes or until the sauce thickens and the water is absorbed. Season with salt and pepper.

Step 2.

While the sauce is simmering, bring a pot of water to a boil and add 2 tablespoons of salt. Cook the spaghetti according to the packet instructions. Drain.

Step 3.

Once the beef sauce is ready, add the pasta. Season with salt and pepper. Serve with grated parmesan.

It’s with a heavy heart that I continue sharing recipes while knowing that people are being DELIBARTELY STARVED. Please correct the language around you – they are not starving, they are being starved. The guilt weighs heavily, but the reality is, I have to keep posting. I’m not here to justify or explain why, because, honestly, I’m mentally drained.

Today, I’m sharing a recipe that brings comfort in tough times. The best ever pistachio rose brownies and so easy to make. These brownies are just the right amount of squidgy on the inside with a lovely crust on the top. The raspberries add a little tartness and cut through the chocolate nicely, which goes perfectly with the brownie.
